Shopping at Macy's in Miami
While in the US just recently we went shopping at Macy's Department Store. Our first foray was through the store in downtown Manhatten which is a pretty big store. At the time we were in the US in July, Macy's were have huge sales and the store is well worth a visit.

We didn't buy anything until we went to the store in Miami. The staff were extrememly helpful and one assistant advised us to go to the office to pick up a card that is specifically for international travellers and gives you an extra 11% of the price of any item even if it is on sale already.

So we stocked up on t-shirts and cargo pants for a fraction of the price we would have paid in Australia.

Ce'Nedra, my granddaughter has just about worn out the strap on my Wii game controller, so I will soon need to look at replacing it.

The Wii is a fantastic gaming platform and the Wii controllers allwo for precision gameplay.

Wii Nunchuk Controller

Wii Nunchuk Controller

The Wii Nunchuk Controller is used in conjunction with the Wii Remote and is easily connect through the expansion port. When the two are combined, the two controllers combine to become your sword and shield to combat charging assailants and much more.

The Wii Remote and Nunchuk Controller are relatively dependent on each other and you can hold each controller in whichever hand is most comfortable. The ambidextrous design gives greater control over gameplay.

The Wii Nunchuk has the same motion-sensing technology as the Wii Remote controller, but with an analog stick to assist with character movement,

In several games, you can use the analog stick to move your playable character, while the Wii Remote performs a specific action, such as throwing a pass or aiming a weapon.

Contoured perfectly to fit in the palm of your hand, the Nunchuk Controller is equipped with conveniently located buttons for lightning-quick access.

Please not that the Wii Remote is not included and the picture is provided to show how the Nunchuk is used in combination with the controller.

Brand Depot Shopping - Canberra
We have discovered a great place to shop for bags, shoes, books, clothing and household goods.

Brand Depot is situated out near the Canberra Airport and is well worth a visit.

I recently purchased 3 handbags, 6 pairs of shoes and some aromatherapy items for unbelievably inexpensive prices. There are a number of shops selling the same type of item but not the same products, if that makes sense. So there may be 5 shoe shops but each stock different styles of shoes and boots. Its amazing.

There is a shuttle bus that runs from Brand Depot into Canberra City but the centre is easily accessible from all over Canberra and the outlying districts.

We have been a few times now and pick up bargains each time we go, and there are more and more shops opening all the time.

Wireless LIVE Controller (Xbox)
Wireless LIVE Controller (Xbox)

Cut the cable and go completely wireless with all your game play and communications. This set is perfect for both LAN and worldwide head-to-head gaming.

The pack includes a controller that plays up to 30 feet away and a wireless headset with crystal clear voice communication.

So move you gaming to a new dimension with the freedom to move around without tripping over cables.

We have wireless controllers with our xbox and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Paula and I only recently purchased the xbox live, mainly because of the Gears of War game, which by the way is awesome.

So we now have all three gaming platforms, the Wii, a PS3 and the xbox. We also have a Nintendo DS for when we go travelling. So I guess you could say we are set for gaming.

The Wii Keeps Everyone Amused
A couple of the grandkids (Demelza and Ce'Nedra) have arrived to live in Canberra, so I have been keeping them entertained with the Wii. They especially love playing the sports games.

I have to say the Wii is certainly value for money and a purchase I am really glad I made.

Sebastian (oldest grandson) was given an xbox 360 for xmas, and I have to say that also looks pretty awesome.

But if you are looking for an inexpensive gaming platform that performs well, you can't go past the Wii.

We have had some sore arms from the vigorous workouts but I like the idea that it gets the couch potatoes of the couch.

How Cool is the New Nintendo Wii
Well what can we say. It is fantastic. Paula and I brought one each, although there are two player games where only one console is required. We each needed one for those times when we are at our individual homes.

After settling in and playing the sports games, where you actually have to swing a tennis raquet or golf club, bowl a bowling ball or do boxing , we started playing Zelda - Twilight Princess. In this game you have to swing a sword to kill various creatures of the dark.

We totally recommend this game for couch potatoes, because you actually have to move more than your fingers.

We have just purchased another game each - Red Steel and Call of Duty, will let you know what we think of them once we have played them for a while.

Just waiting on the car game to arrive with the free steering wheel. We brought our Wii's from Myer and got a really good deal with $600 worth of vouchers plus a free car game and the wheel.

THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THE Wii
